Brown leadership 'would double poll lead'

Britasin's Labour Party would double its lead over the Tories if Chancellor Gordon Brown was party leader, according to an opinion poll tonight.

The poll, by CommunicateResearch for the Independent on Sunday, put Labour on 41%, seven points ahead of the Conservatives on 34% with the Liberal Democrats on 17%.
