Iraqi forces capture al-Zarqawi aide

Iraqi forces have captured what the government described today as a trusted aide to al-Qaida terror mastermind Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

The man - identified as Talib Mikhlif Arsan Walman al-Dulaymi, also known as Abu Qutaybah – was caught in Anah, 160 miles north of Baghdad on February 20, the Iraqi government said.

“A trusted lieutenant of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, Abu Qutaybah was responsible for determining who, when and how terrorist network leaders would meet with al-Zarqawi,” the government announcement said.

Jordanian al-Zarqawi is al-Qaida’s chief in Iraq and was behind many of the beheadings of kidnapped foreigners including Ken Bigley.
