Soldier Lynndie England's abuse charges reduced
The American woman accused of abusing prisoners in Iraq’s Abu Ghraib prison has had the number of charges against her reduced.
Lynndie England previously had 19 charges that could have led to up to 38 years in prison, but she now faces just nine charges, ranging from cruelty to committing indecent acts.
The new charges mean the 22-year-old could spend a maximum of 16 years in prison. No explanation has been given to the reduction.
