Woman suicide bombing mastermind jailed

A Chechen woman, caught carrying plastic explosives in Moscow, was jailed for nine years today for planning a series of terrorist acts.

Zara Murtazaliyeva claimed she had prepared a series of suicide attacks and recruited women for these missions.

Russia has suffered a series of devastating terror attacks that have killed more than 440 people, including September’s school hostage-taking in the southern city of Beslan.

Chechen women, known as Black Widows, are often recruited to carry out suicide attacks in Russian cities.
