Israeli dies in settlement bomb blast

An Israeli civilian was killed and three soldiers injured in a bomb blast near a Jewish settlement in the Gaza Strip today.

Islamic Jihad, a militant group that has carried out dozens of attacks on Israeli targets, claimed responsibility for the attack, and said two of its members were killed in an ensuing gun battle.
