Man held over pregnant mother's murder
A man was today arrested by British police investigating the murder of a mother pregnant with twins.
Mother-of-five Tina Stevenson, 31, was stabbed just a few hundred yards from her home in, Hull, England on Wednesday morning and died soon afterwards.
She died from a single stab wound inflicted by a man shortly after leaving her house in Gee Street where she lived alone. Her unborn twin baby boys could not be saved despite efforts by hospital staff.
Earlier today police issued an appeal for three potentially “crucial witnesses” to come forward after they were seen on CCTV cameras around the time of the attack.
One man, believed to be in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of murder shortly after the incident and released on police bail.
Police tonight said another man was arrested this afternoon on suspicion of murder.
A spokeswoman said: “A 23-year-old man has been arrested at a property in Hull on suspicion of the murder of Tina Stevenson. He is in custody and will be interviewed by police tonight.”
