A 5.1 magnitude quake struck at 1.26am (6.26pm Irish time) in the Indian Ocean and was located about 41 miles south-west of Banda Aceh, said Sutiono, an official at the agency’s Jakarta office.

The second quake, with a 4.6 magnitude, hit the towns of Situbondo, Lumajang and Bondowoso on Indonesia’s main island of Java at 5.11am (10.11pm Irish time), Sutiono said.
