Refugees must be allowed home - Abbas

Interim Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas told thousands of supporters at a campaign rally today that refugees displaced after Israel’s establishment must be allowed to return to their homes.

Abbas, a refugee himself from what is now the northern Israeli town of Safed, has repeatedly demanded Palestinian refugees be allowed to return to their towns of origin inside Israel.
