US may send forensic teams to deal with tsunami victims

The United States may send forensic teams and portable laboratories to help Thailand cope with identifying those killed by tidal waves at seaside resorts, a US Embassy spokesman said today.

Thai authorities are struggling to identify hundreds of corpses because many carried no identifications when they perished on the beaches or were swept out of their hotel rooms by the surging water.
