A complaint against former British Home Secretary David Blunkett was upheld today after he gave his ex-lover two first-class rail tickets paid for by the taxpayer.

It was Mr Blunkett’s responsibility to check the rules on parliamentary allowances, the Commons Standards and Privileges Committee said.
