Indian net site boss arrested in porn DVD sale probe

The boss of internet auction house eBay’s Indian subsidiary has been arrested in connection with the sale of porn DVDs showing teenage classmates engaged in oral sex at a prominent New Delhi high school.

Officers arrested Avnish Bajaj – an India-born American citizen – on charges relating to the sale of eight DVDs showing sex acts between the teenagers at the Delhi Public School, Deputy Commissioner of Police Prabhakar said.

“Action will be taken against all those found to have liability in the case,” he added.

Police are looking for the boy who filmed the act on his camera-fitted mobile phone at the school – one of the top educational institutions in India’s capital - and circulated it to his friends.

The film clip has travelled all around the country and overseas over the internet, and through the sale of illegally copied videos.

Officers have already arrested an engineering student who sold the videos to India’s eBay subsidiary baazee.com, the country’s most popular online auction site.

Baazee, based in India’s financial hub Bombay, claims it has one million registered users.
