Twenty-eight police to stand trial for G8 violence

A judge today ordered 28 police officers to stand trial for their alleged brutality in a raid against anti-globalisation protesters during the 2001 Group of Eight summit in Genoa, news reports said.

The start of the trial was set for April 6, according to news agencies ANSA and Apcom.
