Jailed uprising leader will not run for president

Jailed uprising leader Marwan Barghouti – serving life in an Israeli prison - said tonight he will not be a candidate in the Palestinian presidential election.

He threw his support behind Mahmoud Abbas, the candidate of the ruling Fatah party.
