Car bomb wounds five US soldiers
Five US soldiers were wounded when a car bomb exploded today in western Baghdad , the US military said.
The blast at 10.40am (7.40am Irish time) also damaged two armoured vehicles, the military said.
Associated Press TV showed a charred Humvee being towed away from the scene of the explosion along the airport road as a U.S. helicopter evacuated casualties.
There were also four explosions in the Abu Ghraib area on the western edge of the city around sundown, but no casualties or damage was reported, the military said.
