Bondi booze ban for Christmas party

An annual Christmas beach party in Australia that attracts tens of thousands will be alcohol-free next month, after more than 100 inebriated partygoers needed to be rescued last year.

Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach lures thousands of young backpackers from around the world each year, but municipal authorities have banned alcohol during the Christmas season because of safety concerns over drunken revellers.
