Cholera kills 42 in Nigerian city
A cholera outbreak in the northern Nigerian city of Kano has killed at least 42 people and infected more than 600 others, hospital officials said today.
Physician Ashiru Lawal, head of the state-run Infectious Diseases Hospital in Kano, who announced the figures, said they represented only those recorded at the hospital since October 22. Forty-two people have been died since that date, Lawal said.
