Ten die in US convoy car bombing

A car bomber rammed into a US convoy today as American forces battled militants north of Baghdad, leaving at least 10 people dead.

At least 20 others were injured by the car bomb and the heavy clashes in Beiji, 155 miles north of the capital.

There was no immediate comment from the US military on the incident, and it was unclear whether there were any American casualties.

Beiji is the site of Iraq’s largest oil refinery and a major power station.
