New Bush agenda outlined

The White House claimed a second-term mandate for President George Bush’s agenda to keep taxes low and revamp US social security, appealing to Democrats to help bridge America’s political divide after a bitter election.

“The American people spoke clearly about the agenda they want for the next four years,” White House spokesman Scott McClellan said.
