Japan: Three reported dead in earthquakes

Three people were reported dead and around 200 injured after three strong earthquakes shook north-western Japan within minutes of each other today.

Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi ordered his disaster management team to assemble and monitor information on casualties and damage, his spokesman Yu Kameoka said.
