Grenade attack in central Kabul
An unidentified attacker threw a grenade at some Westerners on a commercial street in central Kabul today and several people were reported killed or injured, police said.
An unnamed police officer at the scene said one Western woman and two children were injured in the attack on Chicken Street in the Afghan capital.
Another officer, Abdul Khaleeq Samani, said the attacker was killed.
Nato-led peacekeepers said three explosions rocked the street at around 3.30pm local time, but had no immediate word on the cause or if anyone was hurt.
“We are investigating. We have patrollers on the spot,” said spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Patrick Poulain.
