At least eight dead as car bomb explodes near US base in Iraq

A car bomb exploded outside the gates of a US base in western Iraq today, witnesses said.

Witnesses said scores appeared to be killed or injured, but there was no immediate confirmation of casualties. The blast occurred outside the US base in Baghdadi base, located some 68 miles west of Ramadi.
