Close shave at Moscow airport
Moscow’s Vnukovo airport was evacuated today after the discovery of a device resembling a bomb in baggage – but it turned out to be an electric razor.
One sniffer dog confirmed the presence of explosives in the bag but a second did not, said a Federal Security Service officer at the scene.
The dog’s handler opened the bag and found batteries and an electric razor, he said.
The ITAR-Tass news agency said the bag was discovered at the entrance to one of the airport’s terminals.
The airport reopened and registration for flights was proceeding normally, said a duty officer.
