Afghanistan election count begins
Foreign experts worked through a final handful of complaints from candidates in Afghanistan’s first-ever-presidential ballot, while an election official said counting of the historic vote was finally set to begin today – five days after the election.
The panel of three election experts said it was forced to quarantine ballots from only 10 polling stations so far – out of the country’s 20,000 – indicating any problems with the vote may be limited. An election official said thousands of vote counters were gearing up to begin counting the vote.
