Funeral of submarine blaze officer

Dignitaries and sailors crowded into a Nova Scotia church today for the funeral of a Canadian submarine crew member killed by an onboard fire in the North Atlantic last week.

Adorned with his officer’s cap and service medals, the flag-draped casket of Lieutenant Chris Saunders was carried into the 750 seat St Andrew’s United Church in Halifax by nine naval officers.
