US teen faces prison for swearing
A 17-year-old high school student faces 30 days in prison after he was arrested for swearing at a teacher.
Glenn Gattis said he used bad language after he got in trouble with the teacher for being late for class in Wilmington, North Carolina.
School resource officers intervened and charged him with disorderly conduct, saying his language was meant to provoke violence.
Gattis will appear in court on October 20 – he was also suspended from school for three days.
