School massacre town marks end of 40 days mourning

Residents of the grief-stricken Russian school siege town marked the end of the formal 40 day mourning period for the hundreds of victims of the massacre today.

They lit thin prayer candles and propped up small icons and photographs among the flowers piled in the shattered gymnasium at the centre of the tragedy.
