Greek terrorists get 1,000-year sentences

Four Greek left-wing terrorists were each jailed for more than 1,000 years today – then the judges reduced the sentences to 25 years.

The three judges on the non-jury court sentenced the three men and one woman to 1,174 years each and a fine of €53,600 for their involvement in Revolutionary Popular Struggle, or ELA. The group for 20 years carried out a bombing campaign against both domestic and American targets.
