Australia condemns Bigley murder

Australia’s foreign minister took time during federal elections today to condemn the execution in Iraq of British hostage Kenneth Bigley.

Militants abducted Bigley, 62, and two Americans on September 16 from their home in a wealthy Baghdad neighbourhood. They beheaded the Americans days later, and a video released yesterday showed Bigley suffering the same fate.
