Bombs detonated outside Swedish police station
Two bombs were detonated outside a police station in south-western Sweden on today, causing heavy damage to the building, but no injuries, a police spokesman said.
Part of a wall was damaged and the windows were blown out when the bombs exploded outside the police station in Kungsbacka, 295 miles south-west of the capital, Stockholm.
A jail guard and two detainees were inside the building at the time but were not hurt. “The devices were fastened to the wall and detonated,” said police spokesman Stefan Johansson.
He said the police had not received any threats and it wasn’t immediately known what kind of explosives were used.
“Right now we have no idea about what’s behind the explosions,” he said. The area around the building was sealed off while forensic experts searched for clues.
