Israelis kill 23 Palestinians in Gaza offensive

Israeli troops pushed deep into the largest Palestinian refugee camp today - a first in four years of fighting – after a Palestinian rocket killed two toddlers in a border town.

Twenty-three Palestinians were killed by army fire and at least 108 wounded, the highest single-day Palestinian casualty count in 30 months.
