US soldiers accused of Iraqi murders

Two American soldiers have been charged with the murder of three Iraqis, the US command said today.

“Sergeant Michael Williams and Specialist Brent May … have been charged with premeditated murder,” the military statement said.

Williams was also charged with obstruction of justice and making a false official statement, the military said.

The two soldiers serve with the Army’s 1st Cavalry Division.

No further details were provided about the case.
