Boy, 3, falls 40ft from balcony

A three-year-old boy was being treated in hospital today after plunging 40ft from a tower block in England.

Lukundo Shaban suffered internal injuries after falling from a third-floor balcony at flats in Ward End, Birmingham.

Paramedics were called to Whitbourne House where they found the child in a critical condition.

He was taken to the city’s Heartlands Hospital and transferred later to the Children’s Hospital where he remained today.

A hospital spokesman was unable to confirm his condition.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said crews were called to the scene shortly before 12.30pm on Sunday to reports of a child falling out of a building.
