Lawyers act over Maxine Carr story

Lawyers for Soham killer Ian Huntley’s former girlfriend Maxine Carr said they were going to a judge today over an article about her new life.

They said that they thought a story in today’s Daily Mail could potentially breach a wide ranging injunction which protects her from public scrutiny.

Solicitor Roy James, of Devas Lewis James, of Peterborough, said: “As a result of an article in the Daily Mail this morning, a further order is being sought at the High Court, preventing repetition of the information contained within that article, as we believe it potentially breaches the injunction.

“The application will be considered by Mr Justice Mitting this afternoon at 3pm.”

The Home Office has said it is supportive of the application.

The story discusses the type of accommodation Carr is said to be living in and her employment.
