Helicopter and plane 'crash in mid-air'

A helicopter and a light aircraft have crashed after apparently being involved in a mid-air collision, police said today.

The incident took place in Hertfordshire, England, at about 1pm.

There are no reports of fatalities.

A Hertfordshire Constabulary spokeswoman said the wreckage was scattered across fields.

She said: “Police were called to a collision between a helicopter and a light aircraft just before 1pm this afternoon in Welham Green.

“We’re still trying to get confirmation of the exact details but it appears both have crash landed after colliding in the air and are in separate fields in the Dixons Hill Road area.”
