An Israeli helicopter fired three missiles at a metal workshop in Gaza City early today, causing some damage, but no major injuries.

The strike came just hours after militants blew up an Israeli army outpost in Gaza and wounded five

soldiers. Two militant groups, Hamas and the Al Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, claimed responsibility for the attack on the outpost.

The missiles hit a metal workshop in the Zeitoun neighbourhood, setting off a small fire. One bystander was slightly hurt.

Two explosions were later heard in Gaza City, witnesses said.
