Suspected suicide gang shot dead

Four suspected Islamic militants who police said belonged to a suicide squad were shot and killed today in the western Indian state of Gujarat, top police officials said.

The three men and one woman opened fire when police tried to stop their car in the city of Ahmadabad, the commercial capital of Gujarat, said GL Singhal, a police commissioner.
