Spain asks Italy to extradite bombing suspect

The Spanish government will ask Italy to extradite an Egyptian considered one of the masterminds of the Madrid train bombings, Spain’s deputy prime minister has said.

Separately, police in the northern mining region of Asturias arrested two more Spaniards accused of helping supply the dynamite used in the attacks, bringing the total to eight.
