Five American soldiers killed in Baghdad attack
Five US soldiers were killed and five wounded in a blast in east Baghdad today.
The 10 were members of Task Force Baghdad, which is made up primarily of the Texas-based 1st Cavalry Division.
The vehicles came under attack on Palestine Street near the Shiite district of Sadr City.
Video footage showed the burning wreckage of a Humvee and a huge plume of black smoke rising from the mangled vehicle.
At least three bodies, apparently of US soldiers, lay on the ground nearby.
About six other American soldiers were loading the bodies onto another Humvee and guarding the site.
