13 killed in pesticide lorry blast

A lorry loaded with pesticides overturned and exploded in southeastern Romania early today, killing 13 people, many of them firefighters.

The explosion came after firefighters arrived to extinguish a fire that started near the lorry which had toppled over on a main road in the town of Mihailesti, some 45 miles northeast of the capital Bucharest.
