Three westerners held in raid on suspected forged passport ring

Three westerners suspected of involvement in a forged passports ring were arrested by Thai police today and later charged with attempted bribery.

Robert John Pope (aged 57), from England and German Uwe Schneider (aged 30) were held as they were leaving their Bangkok apartment with 119 fake Italian passports, said police Lieutenant General Charnwuth Wacharapuk.
