A British civilian worker was shot and killed in Iraq while driving on a main highway in the country, the British Foreign Office confirmed today.

A British civilian worker was shot and killed in Iraq while driving on a main highway in the country, the British Foreign Office confirmed today.

Andrew Harris, aged 33, from Cardiff, south Wales, was shot as he drove along a highway between Mosul and Irbil yesterday.

A British Foreign Office spokeswoman said Mr Harris had been in Iraq working for a security company at the time.
