Collymore arrives at court
Ex-England soccer star Stan Collymore arrived at court today to face an allegation that he made a threat to kill his estranged wife.
The former Liverpool, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest striker is also accused of causing criminal damage, a public order offence and issuing a threat to destroy property by fire.
Dressed in a black suit, pink shirt and pink tie, the 33-year-old declined to comment to reporters as he entered Stafford Magistrates’ Court.
Collymore, who lives in the Shoal Hill area of Cannock, arrived with his solicitor at the court complex at about 9.20am in a black Range Rover with a personalised registration plate.
According to his agent, Collymore will strenuously deny the charges, which are related to an alleged dispute with his wife, Estelle.
