Rescue operation could last seven days

The operation to rescue people thought to be trapped in the rubble of a plastics factory destroyed by an explosion could last up to seven days, emergency services said today.

A joint press briefing by police, fire and ambulance chiefs came 24 hours after the blast at Stockline Plastics in Glasgow’s Maryhill area which left seven people dead and many others injured.
