German air bases on terror alert

Two German air force bases were put on heightened alert today after federal police said they had information they could be targets for terror attacks.

A fighter-bomber wing in Rhineland-Palatinate and a pilot training centre in North Rhine-Westphalia, were put on the second highest alert level for this week and the week of May 24, Defence Ministry spokesman Martin Klein said.
