Michael Jackson’s lawyer joined news organisations to petition California’s Supreme Court to lift a gagging order preventing all parties in the pop star’s child-sex case from speaking about it publicly.

But Jackson’s spokeswoman, Raymone Bain, also issued a statement from the singer pleading with the press to leave him alone.
