Donkey cart attack kills 10 Iraqis

A donkey cart packed with explosives blew up moments after a convoy of US troops drove past it today, killing 10 Iraqis and injuring 20.

No Americans were hurt in the explosion, 15 miles east of the town of Baqouba, said local hospital doctor Majid Ali.

In the nearby town of Samara, north of Baghdad, gunmen in passing cars fired on a BMW, killing three men, witnesses said. The men worked as translators for American forces and had been branded traitors.

Meanwhile, violence continued elsewhere. South of Baghdad, in the town of Yusifiya, six assailants with rocket-propelled grenades fired at US military vehicles. Troops shot back, killing three of the men the others fled, according to an Iraqi police officer and a medical worker.
