Bulgarians to get visas 'immediately': Report
Britain is expected to immediately resume issuing business visas for Bulgarians, the state news agency BTA reported today.
Foreign Minister Solomon Pasi said he had been assured by his British counterpart, Jack Straw, that the business visa services might be restored today, the news agency reported in a story from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
Pasi is touring Central Asia in his capacity as chairman-in-office of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
The British Embassy in Sofia did not immediately confirm the move. An official said the embassy would issue a news release later.
The embassy on March 31 suspended all visa services for Bulgarians following claims that migrants from Bulgaria and Romania were exploiting lax British entry controls. Immigration Minister Beverley Hughes quit over the scandal.
