Bus plunges off mountain killing 34
A crowded bus veered off a mountain road and fell into a ravine in Kashmir today, killing 34 passengers and injuring 35 others.
The accident is the second this week on the Mandi-Loran road in the Himalayan state and Indian police attributed both accidents to overcrowding.
The 35 seater bus with 69 passengers skidded off the road while taking a turn and fell into a 60 foot ravine.
The scene of accident was 135 miles north-west of Jammu, the state’s winter capital.
