Female suicide bomber strikes in Uzbekistan

A woman suicide bomber blew herself up in Uzbekistan’s central Bukhara region today, killing a man and critically injuring herself, police said.

The blast happened in an apartment building and a police spokeswoman said investigators were looking at possible links with the violence that has struck Uzbekistan over the past week.

The blast occurred in the same area as an explosion at an alleged terrorist bomb-making hideaway that killed 10 people on Sunday night.
