A Japanese court has for the first time ordered both the government and a private company to pay compensation to Chinese people forced to work as slave labourers during the Second World War.

A Japanese court has for the first time ordered both the government and a private company to pay compensation to Chinese people forced to work as slave labourers during the Second World War.

The Niigata District Court awarded a total of €672,000.
